St. Catherine’s is a Roman Catholic Primary Day School providing education for boys and girls between the ages of 4+ and 11+. It is a one form entry school with 3 infant classes and 4 junior classes
The school has places for up to 30 children in each year group and caters for: -.
Baptised Catholic children in the Parish of St. Catherine of Siena, Lowton
- Proof of birth date in the form of a birth certificate and proof of Baptism in the form of Baptismal Certificate is required, unless baptised in the parish of St. Catherine of Siena Lowton.
- Children who have a brother or sister at the school at the time of likely admission.
- Baptised Catholic children with special, medical or pastoral needs that can be met by the school. Other children with special, medical or pastoral needs that can be met by the school.
- Baptised Catholic children from other Catholic Parishes.
- If, after considering applications made which meet any of the above criteria or a combination of one or more of the same, then the Admissions Committee will consider applications made by parents of children of other Christian denominations. It would be necessary for such parents to have expressed a genuine desire for their children to be educated in a Catholic school and to be fully supportive of its Catholic ethos. Children other faiths whose parents demonstrate a commitment to the ethos of the school.
- Children whose parents express a preference for a place at the school.
In the event of any over subscription in the number of applications made under any of the categories above, then the admissions committee will offer places first to children living nearest to the school measured by the shortest walking distance using public highways.
Note: The Governing Body reserve the right to admit children with proven and exceptional medical and social needs where admission to the school might best help satisfy those exceptional needs, providing that such application is submitted with appropriate evidence or reports from a doctor or social worker. Where applications are received from Catholic or non-Catholic children in public care they will respectively be admitted to the school in that priority order and in advance of the outlined order of criteria.
