The staff share responsibility with the parents for the welfare of the children. Every effort is made to make life in school orderly and happy. Class teachers are directly responsible for the pastoral welfare of the children. They are supported by the Head and Deputy.
The staff control movement about the school and supervise the children at play. Self discipline is encouraged and children are expected to assume increasing amounts of responsibility as they move up the school.
Immediate problems are dealt with in school. If these persist, whether concerning work or behaviour, parents will be involved.
`Bullying’ in any form is a serious matter and will not be tolerated. Parents will always be invited into school to help resolve cases involving their children.
Children are expected to walk when moving about the school.
At break time and lunch times the children are expected to show consideration for each other. Rough play, including `play’ fighting is not acceptable.
It is important to listen to children and reconciliation is sort whenever possible.
