All children at St. Catherine’s are entitled to a broad balanced curriculum appropriate to their needs. It is our aim to do all we can to ensure each child leaves school with the skills of literacy, numeracy and social independence needed in adult life.
The school has a named teacher responsible for co-ordinating the needs of children who experience learning difficulties (SENCO). Provision is made within the classroom for children who have learning difficulties. Specialist help is sought and put into practice by the class teacher, supported by SENCO and the headteacher.
Our aim is to encourage all children to achieve their full potential, we endeavour to provide for our more able children with enrichment activities which are stimulating and challenging. We aim to identify our children who show they are able and talented in any aspect of the curriculum and provide opportunities and resources appropriate to their needs.
